Backup Light Failure

For some reason, my backup lights don't seem to want to work. The bulbs are fine. Can anybody please tell me where the backup light switch is on an '82 5sp?

Funny you mention it.......I recently got mine working again.

The switch is part of the tranny. The wire leads go into the spare wheel well along with the infamous speedo pickup wires. Find the wire connector (7 pole) hiding behind the black phenolic protector. There should be four (as I remember) wires connected. Two are for the speedo reference signal and the others for the backup lights. Consult the manuals for exact wiring should you need it, but a good cleaning and reconnect usually solves the problem.
